    I just installed Ubuntu 8.10 final and the problem is present on HP Pavilion dv6700.

    Too bad since it worked fine on 8.04.

    FreeSans is the best font I've ever used (both windows and linux ... I haven't been using windows a couple of years, but nothing is changed there :) )

    That's just pure nonsense.
    Most of the software distributors still ignore ubuntu in their packaging. And the chances are it is going to stay that way.
    So we depend on installing from source or...

    Users might be more familiar with firefox then epiphany when switching from any platform to ubuntu. This should be a big plus on this issue.
