I had this problem after I did a clean install of 12.04 -> 13.10 (bringing my old home directory over).
I somehow managed to fix it by uninstalling and reinstalling gnome-screensaver, and toggling...
If you haven't solved this already, try moving or deleting the file:
/home/nao/programs/urbi-sdk-2.7.1-linux-x86_64-gcc4/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8
If that doesn't fix it, I just had this...
One liner:
sudo aptitude install dnsmasq dnsmasq-base-
It should take less time this way, and be less likely to remove files you want. You'll need to `sudo apt-get install aptitude` though....
- Write the script with gedit. Save.
- Right click on the file, and go to properties. Change to the permissions tab, and check Execute for at least "Owner".
- Open up Keyboard Shortcuts (in unity...
Thank you!
Can you mark this as solved?
I also invite you to provide this solution for others at askubuntu.com (since that's the first search result):...
I think I'm alright in that respect, though aren't I?
Grub boots off the first partition, and then can boot onto the windows 7 partition that I have.
I guess I haven't quite figured out what...
*sigh* alright. I guess at least now I have closure to that dilemma.
Fortunately I didn't have anything important on the partition, and even if I did it's still mountable.
Linux spoils me.
Great theory.
I had initially created the partition as ext2/3, and then dd'd the ntfs partition into it.
I deleted the partition, and recreated it ntfs before I dd'd it over again:

I started off with ubuntu (sda1) and a swap partition (sda2).
I wanted to add windows, but instead of wiping the whole hard drive, or installing off a cd, I decided to backup and restore my...
Oh, I'm sorry. I should have replied to this.
I forgot to write my fix immediately, but it had to do with the files in the folder:
/home/.ecryptfs/user/.ecryptfs/
$ cat...
Does anyone know if 11.10 seems to fix these issues?
I'm in over my head.
My primary user for my desktop had an encrypted home folder (still does I hope):
/home/name/
I decided to rename the user:
usermod -l newname name
usermod -m -d...
My more convenient solution is now to put my computer into standby (while I'm experiencing the issue), confirm that the hardware switch is online, and then recover from standby again.
This is only...
Hm. I haven't had problems with it recently, now that I think about it.
I've also been using flash-aid.
Can you try Flash-Aid to update your flash to the lastest version, so we can see if that...
Several times I was having problems with the huawei e220 modem with the network manager. (in ubuntu 11.04)
I would plug it in, then I would connect as soon as it showed up.
However the "enable...
I'm trying to set up and configure sbnc, for ubuntu.
After
sudo apt-get install sbnc
I set the user to "isaac" and the password to "test"
The only configuration I did, is to make sure that sbnc...
Well, my progress has been this so far:
It happened more often when I had Barlesque installed, but since I disabled it I've still experienced it occasionally.
When it does happen, it seem to be...
My "permanent solution" has been to leave the hardware switch enabled all the time, and disable it via the software network manager.
I ran the following code:
echo ".dump" | sqlite3 banshee.db | sqlite3 new.db
mv banshee.db banshee.db.old
mv new.db banshee.db
And it seems to be mostly restored.
Well, no. Not that I remember. I think I used it once at 2.1.0, and it had the normal options (in preferences) like I expected. Then I disabled it. I wanted to run it again (flash issues, among other...
Just a suggestion, I don't like having to use plugin buttons, I like to:
> Tools, -> Addons -> {addon name} -> Preferences
I found the change of configuration options to the button menu...
The Firefox UI is periodically freezing. I haven't managed to blame something in particular, though it's possible it happened after I installed the latest version of flash through "Flash-Aid".
...
I had this issue also, with the X interface just freezing until I ctrl+alt+f1, and killed X.
Recently, I noticed it seemed to stop (or at least became less regular). I assumed it had to do with...
