You know it!
It almost seems insulting to reply to this thread after so many months with a Windows desktop...but that's what I'm doing!

It's been nearly 3 years since I last used Linux myself. I installed Xubuntu via Wubi and felt right back home again. :)
Not much has changed from the default. Default theme, Faenza icons, and...

Wow, what a life-saver!
Before I was using Banshee just because Amarok 1.4 was getting too old and outdated, but the newest release has now made it my favourite music app. Library watcher? Shoutcast? Wikipedia? Last.fm?...
Hi,
first off, thank you for that driver!
Secondly, now that I'm using this driver, my computer will only boot up in 800x600. If I log out and in again, it returns back to 1280x1024. Any ideas?
Since that link doesn't work, try

Then why not boot into 2.6.26? It should be an option under GRUB.
It's what I have to do because my wireless driver won't work properly under 2.6.31.
Thanks to a couple GIMP tutorials I was able to whip up a nice background with my webcomic character.

Looks like Xfce's answer to Totem. Could be good.
After a restart, the ndiswrapper driver only sticks around 50-70%. If I switch back to zd1211rw, it's 100%. This is with XP's, haven't tried it with Vista's.
I may just stick with Jaunty's kernel,...
I gave ndiswrapper a try. I downloaded my wireless drivers from the manufacturer's site, installed ndisgtk and installed them through System > Administration > Windows Wireless Drivers. After I...
Thanks! Right-clicking Network Manager > Connection Information shows the speed as 54 Mb/s and not 1 anymore, but it still stays at 40%.

Hi everyone,
I've got a Retail Plus Mini Wireless USB Adapter that uses the zd1211rw driver. In Jaunty, it works perfectly. In fact, it has in every version I've tried except Karmic. In Karmic,...
Hmm, I never thought of it that way before. That'll work wonders. Thanks!
This happened to me with a flashdrive a while back. I ended up having to reformat it under Windows to get it to work again. If anyone knows how to reformat a USB drive under Ubuntu, please let me...
I liked Songbird just fine, but the dependency on add-ons bothered me. Without all the add-ons Songbird is pretty average, and if an update broke them it'd be useless to me. Its iPod plugin also...

Well, I found the culprit: under ~/.local/share/applications, there are dozens of wines with the names wine-extension-*.desktop. With those removed, "Open With" works as it should.

Go to Edit > Preferences, and under "Playback" and "Recording", change the Devices to "ALSA: pulse". Now Audacity should work. :)
