    [ubuntu] Re: Blurriness :O

It's blurry due to the resolution being incorrect.

Open the Screen Resolution settings (should be in System->Preferences) and have a look in there.

  2. Re: Is it Safe to Give JDownloader access to my Router?

It depends if JDownloader uploads any of that information elsewhere - but in any case, most routers disable external login connections unless specified in the router's settins.

[ubuntu] Re: How to boot up Ubuntu?

Did it ask you if you wanted to install it alongside Windows? ("Split the hard drive between the two")
  4. [ubuntu] Re: Proprietary drivers for wireless and graphics card

That is because it is trying to connect to the internet to install the drivers. Put the Ubuntu CD in the drive and try it again - it should install them from the CD (like it did when it was in LiveCD...

[ubuntu] Re: How to boot up Ubuntu?

Say, when you were installing Ubuntu, did it ask you where to install it? As you may have just installed it onto the very same USB drive you were using, instead of onto the internal hard drive.

[SOLVED] Re: Can Linux programs be installed in Windows?

The CoLinux project is interesting - it runs a tiny version of Linux inside an exe file, and behaves just like a virtual machine - but it integrates seamlessly with the desktop.

    Based on CoLinux,...

    [SOLVED] Re: Grub Security?

The fact you are getting alerts should be reassuring. That means they haven't gotten through your firewall. If it all went quiet, then you should be worried.

    [ubuntu] Re: linux nightmare

Somehow I doubt this will improve the speed of his wireless adapter.

By the connection being "uber slow 1mb" do you mean that it's going at 1MB/s, or that it should be at 1MB but it's going slowly?

I can only assume then that the game itself is bugging out. At least in this particular case.

Seems to be trying to access memory that isn't there any more. Have you checked your RAM for faults recently? That may be the issue.

Re: Why should I use Linux?

I use it because I like the freedom and stability of the OS. Also I like to have fun doing things with my network using it. An interesting example of fun is shown here:...

Re: Should schools be using linux?

My college uses Linux as part of all its Computing-Related courses. They believe we should have a better view of all OS's, and I agree.

And guess which distribution they use?

A quick temporary fix for me is to right click on the bar in question, choose properties, and then show the hide arrows. Then, hide them again.

[ubuntu] Re: How To Stream Live to a Website?

The easiest way to do this would be to download a NES emulator (or whichever platform you're using) for Linux and use its built-in movie recording. Most emulators have a video-dump ability.

Re: What Make Linux Surf Faster Than Window

Perhaps on your windows machine you are running a lot in the background? Perhaps background applications are using your bandwidth (updating and so on) so you get an overall slower surfing speed?

[SOLVED] Re: top command reveals spooky users on my pc

  21. Poll: Re: When we will see games design for linux ????

And blender is the 3D application of choice for Linux users, and it can do everything 3DS Max can. In fact,...
