Yes, this has worked for me too.

Thanks for this, I've been down so many dead ends in relation to this problem it's untrue ! I had come to the conclusion that Ubuntu (who allowed this into the distro?) had dropped the ball...
Unfortunalty it seems this is necessary each time the kernel is updated.
Does anyone have a better fix ?
Quite why this needs a fix is beyond me. Pretty poor seeing how many of these wireless...
I had the same problem after updating from 10.10 > 11.10
Definatly not a problem with my routers / network since many other devices continued to work fine.
In the end this post worked for me...
Ok - got it working now after much grief
The NAS has an option to adjust ethernet frame size (Jumbo Frames).
It seems my lucid box didn't like that - which is odd seeming as none of the other...
Just noticed something else
As I mentioned I have a shared drive on lucid
I can access it from multiple locations but I've just right click > share and it's telling me it's not shared ?!
...
Yeah, seen that quite a lot recently
Something I have just noticed is if I do a
sudo /etc/init.d/samba restart
I get

CIFS VFS: Send error in SETFSUnixInfo = -11
Any idea what this is ? I can't find anything about it.
I am also interested in this. I have spent some time searching with no result. All the links I can find, which stretch back many years, basically have no replies or dead ends.
I use this on my XP...
Ok - same thing has happened to me on two laptops I have just upgraded from Jaunty
Second time it happened I used the touchpad to left click. This brought the usb mouse back to life.
Because there's no Shockwave for Linux ?
How do you install Java for Windows FireFox using WINE ?
I have been having a similar problem with Wuala.
SBackup 0.10.5 saves backups with permission root:root
If you install ver 0.10.4 it saves as root:admin
This means that as long as you've got...
Doesn't anyone else have any input for this one ?
I'm finding this particularly strange because I'm not getting any errors in the log files
My machine has two accounts on it.
When the keyboard locks up on one I can use the mouse to log out / switch to the other account which will work fine.
However - both account have the "ability"...
I have recently developed this in Hardy on a Dell laptop
Than thing that I find odd is the fact that fn+ any fn related key still works but nothing else. The touch pad seems to work without...
Did you ever find a fix for this ?
Re-installation isn't really a fix
