I thought I could delete /etc/samba and then simply reinstall it to "reset" all the configs but sudo apt-get install samba does not reinstall the files/folder :lolflag:

That allows them to connect but then they still can't access the folders... it keeps saying it cant find the original folder or something similar

Why would you want the GUI on the server... you might as well just get the standard ubuntu and install LAMP?!

Yes you can... but at the top you said you had formatted it?! Use disk magic or a simmilar program and it will do everything for you

A partition says "I exist between head 1 and head 500000" (for example) so everything gets written in-between them. Your second partition will start after that. ;)
