I changed the permissions for /home/tom to 755 and /home/tom/.dmrc to 600. No more error message at login page.

Two other drives that have mint Cinnamon on them boot this laptop w/no error message when I install them on this laptop.

On a drive that has 17 cinnamon installed:

Right now .dmrc permissions are 600. Wonder why the message I get says to change it to 644?
