    Re: Easy Ubuntu Clustering

Ahhh, so I'm comparing apples and oranges. :) Forgive my ignorance, I'm still learning a lot about setting up clusters. I'm not too sure if I can stray too far away from building a cluster with MPI...

    Re: Easy Ubuntu Clustering

I personally use RHEL 5.3 and OSCAR 5.1rc1 for managing a ten node cluster. OSCAR seems pretty good for deploying an HPC cluster, but how does Kerrighed stack up against it?

Re: A very simple nessus installation

I don't know if anyone's noticed, but Nessus is NOT free for those looking to deploy this for their work. I work in a small research lab and had to figure out what the hell to do with Nessus, since...

    Re: HOWTO: ATI drivers 8.12.10

Has anyone gotten XVideo/YUY2 to work fine with these drivers? I can't get it to work at all with tvtime at least:

It worked fine with the 8.8.25 drivers in the Ubuntu repositories. :x
  7. Re: HOWTO: Have a menu which shows all installed applications on your system

It worked for me after installing menu-xdg (running GNOME).

I had to search for the Ubuntu .deb file manually through Google, though; it couldn't get the file from the Ubuntu repository for some...

Re: HOWTO: Get Your iPod to work with GTKPod

Re: HOWTO: Get Your iPod to work with GTKPod

That's odd... yeah, usually it comes out alphabetically sorted when I sort it as such in GTKPod. However, the problem I had was that it would sort only when I explicitly told it to sort by changing...

    Re: HOWTO: MIDI in Hoary

Anyone happen to know if there's a program out there that is not QT based that can play MIDI files through the hardware synthesizer?

I was considering the xmms-midi plugin, but I noticed that it...

Re: HOWTO: Get Your iPod to work with GTKPod

Whoops... didn't know. :p I added the backport repositories right after I installed Ubuntu, so I had no clue... I'll be sure to add that note, though.

HOWTO: Get Your iPod to work with GTKPod

I personally had a lot of problems trying to get my iPod to work correctly with GTKPod. It seems that GTKPod always made the vfat filesystem on the iPod read only every time I wanted to do an...

Hmm. Well, I'm not entirely sure exactly how you would do it, but I'd imagine that you could have a separate file that has a value that switches between two things, and then reading that file every...
