I have always installed preload and notice great improvements. Try it, restart your computer and it should start to be more responsive.

This is more of an observation at the moment, only happens on occasions.
Basically if I put the wireless adapter under load (such as downloading a debian ISO, and Ubuntu ISO plus a game download...
Maybe check the manufacturers recommendation for RAM here, see if yours is there and change the settings to those recommended by ASUS. See if that makes any difference.

Unusual problem since running Ubuntu 14.04 x64.
When I launch Team Fortess 2 the menu has lots of black blocks. The game play is also black and blocky.

Solved it myself after a bit of research.
Here is what I did to upgrade to the Latest Kernel 3.15.5. The upgrade was a success with no bugs.
