Re No more Maximise/Minimise Windo Buttons?

    Thank for the advice. Regards.

I don't know! It's all got so confusing, that stuff. If I have installed Gnome 3, is there a simple way of getting back to something sane?

    No more Maximise/Minimise Windo Buttons?

    Re: Bluetooth speaker, Ubuntu 14

Updating the kernel (I'm using 3.14.4-031404) sorted it for me. Now I have no further problem with bluetooth and the Bose Mini-link.
  4. Re: Bash one-liner to identify and move images of certain size

Yes, that's it; working perfectly. Fantastic one-liner, and handles spaces in file names, as you say. Many thanks for your help.
  5. Re: Bash one-liner to identify and move images of certain size

Ha - you are quite right, ofnuts. My code hasn't isolated files size 300x300 at all! Also, I had to sed the files to remove spaces before running my script. Now, I'm going to start again and try...
  6. Re: Bash one-liner to identify and move images of certain size

Ok, here's what did the trick, identifying all .pnf files size 300x300 pixels and moving them into another directory:

    #!/bin/bash
    while read -r file; do
    mv -t "./NewDirectory" "$file"
    done <...
  7. Re: Bash one-liner to identify and move images of certain size

I've now tried that but it's not doing the job. The identify command outputs not just the file name but a long string of other information, so it's not suitable for feeding raw into the do loop.
  8. Bash one-liner to identify and move images of certain size

Can anyone help me with thi? I want to search the directory tree for all .jpg files, use Imagemagick's "identify" command to find all those whose size is 300x300 pixels, and move such files to a...

[SOLVED] Re: Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon Ultrabook

Thanks; I've checked all of these to avail, except that the USB flash drive may be the problem insofar as it's a Sandisk, like the hard drive - the machine could be having problems with that. I'll...

[ubuntu] Re: Nautilus is a disaster

No, I am not using any tweaks.

And the latest oddity I've encountered is that the 'rename' right-click facility if greyed-out, thought it nevertheless works.

    [ubuntu] Re: unity compiz issues

Just joined the Compiz broke my Unity club. It's kinda frustrating that major manglings like this are allowed to exist in a release. It's the sort of thing that gets Linux a bad name.
