    I've received update for Nvidia properity driver 450 (440->450), and it wants to install i386 packages, also for X11 packages as well. Looks to me the whole i386 stack is going to be installed....

    I use MusE. It has good, clean, note editor.
    It can use LV2 plugins. So you can use Linuxsampler or fluidsynth for instruments.
    Qtractor is also good sequencer with piano roll with LV2 support.

    JACK Timemachine has a recording buffer. Default is 10s, but you can set it as you see fit.
