i would like to restore my firewall to its original state and set up local network sharing.
when i tried: sudo iptables -F it didn't allow me to connect to the internet any more so i reinstalled...
I have never had a problem with the Ubuntu installer after many many many many many installs over the years.
rebooted again then kill another vmware process then was able to uninstall. thanks for the help. :)
i tried running kill and sudo kill and the number of the process but it doens't stop :(

either one i don't care. i tried to kill all the vmware process and have even tried rebooting but it doesn't help.

well im not sure but for the time being you can virtualize windows in linux if needed to run your old program.
yes it really is. At least ubuntu will boot much quicker than windows. :)
is the file on your desktop.
if it is you need to change the directory in the terminal.
cd /home/<USERNAME>/Desktop/
then run previous commands
just re-enter your password for your wpa hot spot.
+1. On my desktop with Jaunty it has a 10GB swap file which is larger than the 4GB of RAM but Hibernation wont work and has even corrupted the drive once. :(
