Running Karmic 9.10 Beta on eeePC 1005HA.
Same problem: did all the above, have all listed plugins; Rhythmbox still won't play mp3's, says plugin missing.
From my experience, victormd is exactly correct. Do as he says and you should be able to access your NTFS drives.
