    It may not be a good Graphics Card.
    Or maybe Ubuntu thinks it isn't.
    Maybe Ubuntu just doesn't like it. My Laptop doesn't allow me to enable it either.

    When the Computer sleeps, it may not give power to the external drive, and it forces it to wake back up to give power back to drive.

    Use System -> Administration -> Disk Utility and Find your MP4 and format it that way. Use FAT drive format and give it a label. Your MP4 will now work with Windows computer too.
