I tried both methods but unfortunately in both cases the timer goes to 10 sec :(

I'd like to know if there is a way to disable the timer on grub so when i boot my pc grub will wait for my choice on the operating system instead of booting to the currently selected one after 10...

i did everything you said and i got Cube Atlantis and Snow and some other options as well in compiz.
The problem is that when a check the check boxes of these options to activate them after 3-5 secs...

I go under the System>Preferences> Menu but the is no compiz there.
I tried to run it from terminal and when i did everything went away and could only see my desktop's background image for about 2-3...
