Ok, I manually added a 2.6.35 line in the boot menu.
Now the simple "/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup" works fine. I can run virtualbox just fine.
Still not sure why 2.6.35 never made it into grub...

Took a little time to setup USB boot via BIOS. Had to manually select USB-Disk as an HDD in BIOS Boot Setup to get things working..

I can report a flawless upgrade to Karmic on the W500... No issues at all... Significantly snappier GUI... So much better than Jaunty... among other niceties... Good luck!
Ok, the new UFR-II drivers 1.9 from the Canon Singapore website now let printing work on Jaunty.. Whoosh!

Hmm, thanks.. I had to switch from gcc-4.1 to gcc-4.3 to get it to recognize some command-line switches... But I still get this error-
I couldn't even find PPAs with gcc-4.4 for intrepid... Are there any plans to provide that version of gcc with intrepid?.. or has someone already created an Interpid .deb for it?
