    It happened to be an ethernet card that I had installed may moons ago. 12.10 appears to have found it and reporting that it may not be in use. Removed the card and all is well.

    Part of the problem could be that our maps are made up of a series of 4 images and displayed on the website as an animated gif. (check out the website)
