    Try making your live usb with pendrive linux tool.
    I can't say what's with your touchpad issue. Mine worked fine in the live enviroment.
    Only issues I see on 12.10 are that the battery status does...

    AFAIK it's a long standing issue in Gnome or more precisely in Nautilus file manager. I don't know why they made it like that especially because in other folders the grid is correct.

    Good example would be www.chromeexperiments.com which is laggy on linux but not on windows.

    I installed drivers from this repo, enabled uxa acceleration, removed compiz blacklist and now everything works on my integrated intel x3100 (GM965), no freezing or anything :)
