I guess it's not possible? Darn. I've found a program that can open .3ds and just about everything except .max, which I need.
Anyway/program to do this? I have some Autodesk 3DS Max files that I need to open in Ubuntu, and appearently 3DS Max doesn't work with Wine. I can try installing it, but it probably won't work.

That does not work for me. I have to use the Fallback session.
I actually was just having that problem... I use the Gnome Classic desktop, I had to use the Fallback to get it to move windows.
LTS is basically getting 5 years of support/updates, etc. from the release date. Helpful for big companies who can't update their PCs operating system every 18 (1.5) years. The average user should be...
Haven't used Steam for Ubuntu in a while, but I'm pretty sure that I saw that Call of Duty was not being ported to Linux.
EDIT: Just checked the Steam website, the game is not on Linux currently.
Ubuntu is an operating system for PCs(personal computers). It's like Windows (which your PC probably has) or Mac OS X, except, it's free! Most software you need for day to day tasks is right there...
Have to disagree with the bold part. I have a Vista system I use IE8 on a daily basis because IE9 is so horrendously looking. IE8 works perfectly fine for YouTube, etc.
Anyway, you might try this...
No you cannot. But I recommend using Amazon to buy music. JMO.
Unity is a bit resource heavy. You might try to uninstall it from the control panel in Wubi and try using Wubi to install Lubuntu under Desktop Environment. Better yet, try using Puppy Linux.
I would recommend Puppy, or maybe Lubuntu, but that is about all that machine will handle. My 256MB machine runs Puppy pretty smoothly.
I tried two different DVDs, both using the correct settings, and they just didn't boot. It went straight to Grub boot menu, prompting me to boot to Linux Mint or Windows 7. But, using madhank's...
Hmmm.... couldn't get it working using Lightning Dragon's suggestions, don't know why. They refuse to boot, and they are set first priority in BIOS. I'll try madhank's suggestion.
Thanks for the help, using Brasero now. Will report back with details.
Oh, I also have some dual layer Memorex DVDs.
I need to create a bootable Ubuntu 10.04 USB (yes, 10.04 for a reason), and the PC is currently running Linux Mint 14. I've tried Unetbootin, but when the PC restarts and boots, the only option is...
In my Windows 8 Pro final version, a reset in W8 does not mess with Ubuntu.
When you save it in Libre, just save it as the MS Office file type.
Anywho, scroll to the bottom for SP install....
Okay, I don't know how to install the SP's, but I do know how to get it installed. Insert your Office DVD, and navigate to the setup.exe file, and right click, open with WINE. Enter your Product key,...
I'm a Brony, and I'm proud! :D
Try working through this.

12.10 is solid for me. A-, maybe B+. On my C2D/3GB RAM setup, it's about the same speed as 12.04. I use KDE desktop, and I finally got some Windows stuff running in Ubuntu. If I can just get PS to...
Hi guys! I joined these forums in August, but haven't made a single post here since this weekend. I am a Brony (Rainbow Dash Baby!)and love anything MLP and Ubuntu related. I also like NASCAR (Tony...
That's a pretty cool tool, I'll have to bookmark it.
