    [ubuntu] Re: Profile-sync-daemon throws errors

    Just got your PM. Not sure if/how BTRFS factors into the equation. Are you still on 12.04?
    Here is my terminal output installing psd (from my PPA) on a fresh Install of 13.10:

  9. [all variants] Re: Profile-sync-daemon - keep browser profiles in tmpfs

    Glad to hear it. Can you verify that the daemon starts automatically when you reboot? Just reboot and post the output of:

    service psd status
  10. [all variants] Re: Profile-sync-daemon - keep browser profiles in tmpfs

    @svo - OK. This looks good. You should be running just fine now. Are you able to use your browsers?
  11. [all variants] Re: Profile-sync-daemon - keep browser profiles in tmpfs

    OK... do this:

    sudo apt-get purge profile-sync-daemon
    sudo apt-get update

  14. [all variants] Re: Profile-cleaner reduces browser profile size by cleaning/reindexing

    I don't use wine but I am assuming that the profile directory is somewhere under ~/.wine/.... so profile-cleaner doesn't know to look for it there. Luckily for you, there is an option for you to use...
  15. [all variants] Re: Profile-sync-daemon - keep browser profiles in tmpfs

    That error is caused by you modifying the instructional section of /etc/psd.conf - add a # to those lines to fix; you only need to define the browsers of choice in the line that starts with,...
  16. [all variants] Re: Profile-sync-daemon - keep browser profiles in tmpfs

    Yes. Query status:

    % service psd status
    * profile-sync-daemon is running

    You may also ask psd directly:

    % psd p
    Profile-sync-daemon v5.27.1 on Ubuntu 12.10.
  17. [all variants] Re: Profile-sync-daemon - keep browser profiles in tmpfs

    No, you will need to start the daemon.

    1) Edit /etc/psd.conf to define your user(s) and optionally your browsers.
    2) To preview what profiles will be managed, run
    $ psd p
    3) When happy, start...

    My script is a gloried wrapper for `sqlite3 $db vacuum && sqlite3 $db reindex` both of which are standard commands and should work fine on any compatible database.
