    Poll: Re: Master Kernel Thread

I feel smoother and more responsive in normal desktop computing, e.g. web browsing and stuff. Maybe it's a placebo effect like you mentioned. However, I noticed ~5 fps increase in playing World of...

    Re: WOW problems

At this point, I would look around this forum and the rest of the web for a similar hardware and see their performance on games in general (i.e. if you couldn't find someone trying to play wow). ...

    Re: WOW problems

Config.wtf seems fine to me. Can you double check your wine registry settings? This gentoo-wiki page also has some other great tips as well. Other than that, I think it's rather a hardware...

    Re: WOW problems

It's strange that you're only getting 2fps. Can you post your Config.wtf?
  5. Re: Howto: WOW with Wine (help.ubuntu.com/community/WorldofWarcraft)

I don't quite get what this senior support manager meant in his last quote. Did he mean that Blizzard would support it the day we can start playing WoW without using Wine and Cedega? Sure... That...

I think you need to click the "Finish" button in the other window. See what happens after that.
  7. Re: Howto: WOW with Wine (help.ubuntu.com/community/WorldofWarcraft)

I have the same hardware as you and running Kubuntu also. Have you tried disabling the compiz and running WoW?

I think I have a solution for you that may work :) I cannot fully gaurantee though, since I don't have a machine with Intel wireless.

    1) Make sure you configure the kernel to include the driver,...

If Feisty uses vol_id instead of direct device names such as /dev/sda#, am I doing something wrong for my system? Everything is running smooth aside from some warnings. A stanza of my...

    Poll: Re: Master Kernel Thread

Is it because you're missing some raid support modules? I'm not entirely sure. I've attached an image of how my config looks like. It's running on RAID-0 using dmraid.

Yep. If you're following the method in the first post in this thread, issue the following command:

    Simple "mv" shell command question

Let's say I'm in a directory with many files and an empty folder (named "haha"). I want to move all the files into that empty folder. So, I'd issue:
mv * empty_folder It works but with a...
  15. Re: Using 'Software Sources' tool to select local mirror

"Ubuntu sources.list generator" page came up as a top result after I googled for "ubuntu country sources.list". Those weren't the best search keywords, but it did the trick. :)
  16. Re: Using 'Software Sources' tool to select local mirror

Well... yes, AFAIK that feature unfortunately was not implemented for Edgy, but you can follow my previous post about changing the country code in the sources.list file.

I notice that too. Maybe as you mentioned, there could be a limit. At those times, I'd use Google's search site features.
  18. Re: Using 'Software Sources' tool to select local mirror

doh! I'm sorry then. I was looking at my Feisty and thought it was there. My bad. :D

  19. Re: Using 'Software Sources' tool to select local mirror

Isn't there an option called "others"? If you click on it, you'll be able to choose the closest server by country. In your case, it will be Portuguese.
