I have found WICD, and it is. So long as I have enough signal strength and a friendly access administrator I can connect 99% of the time on my SERP2 laptop.

I read the article you referred to - one significant thing: that article was making reference to the lack of a temperature sensor in the AMD chips; my Serval has an Intel chip....

I got it working on a Serp2 in 32-bit Ubuntu. I know --- Serp2 --- Dual Core --- but I am waiting until 64-bit Ubuntu is just as smoothly functional as 32-bit.

Today's updates brought along a new nVidia Free driver.
