    Not answering your question directly , if you're exploring OSes, take a look a VirtualBox or another virtualization program in Ubuntu. It might help you explore what you want to do, a different way.

    Install Ubuntu on it successfully, the whole disk. Then try to install Windows XP, and for-sure they'll jump all over that disk with their OS. :)
