    Solved it the hard way. Went back to bios settings and discovered that it was possible to completely disable UEFI and fallback to legacy boot. So we did, and get rid of the problems, no workaround...

    According to your xinput --list our touchpad are reported to be different, mine is AlpsPS/2 ALPS DualPoint TouchPad, while yours is AlpsPS/2 ALPS GlidePoint.

    Maybe we have different hardware? Or...

    Yes, not perfect yet.. but I was able to improve a lot it's "feeling" playing with synclient settings.

    I put them in a .sh script, made that file executable, and I automatically launch it on login...

    Thanks a lot! It works great on my system! I'm web browsing (via wi-fi) for some 15 minutes to test, and the drain rate it's always between 8.5W and 12W.. with 9 - 9.5W being the most frequent!

    Moreover, if I'm not wrong, laptops with buggy pcie aspm should have increased drain starting with 2.6.38...
