Thanks, I'll give that a try!
I found the solution, I'll post it here for anyone who might have the same problem: my NVIDIA driver seemed to have some issues with opengl 4.0, so I just changed the version in the code to 3.3....
Well then that's a bummer because it didn't work for me either.
Thanks, but if you actually read the post I think that he makes it pretty clear that those fixes did not help. And it seems like there is still no fix.
I don't think that there is any phone that works excellently out of the box with linux, though some work better than others.
iPhones aren't really an option as Apple wants to control what is done...
My ubuntu 64-bit also occasionally freezes when I try to wake it up from hibernation. I temporarily fixed that by changing the power settings that it stays in suspended mode for longer before...
Here's the code:
#include <stdlib.h>
#include <stdio.h>
#include <string.h>
#include <GL/glew.h>
#include <GL/freeglut.h>
#define WINDOW_TITLE_PREFIX "Chapter 1"

Maybe you should look into google talk, I think you can make video calls from the gtalk app in Gingerbread (2.3.4), not sure about google talk on linux though. But maybe you could google it.
Hi,
I've been trying to use this tutorial to learn some opengl.
I got it to compile without much problem, but when I try to run it this error is displayed:
X Error of failed request: ...
Thank you so much, this helped me out too! I did have some problems at the command line thing (I'm a noob, I know ;) ) put I figured it out eventually! :p
No it doesn't - there is no /etc/default/grub (Atleast I don't have it)
maverick has worked well for me, better than lucid.
No, you do not need to make backups of your programs.
I reinstalled Windows (painful) and GRUB, now it is working prefectly!
Thank you so much for your help!

I tried changing the disk identifier number, but it didn't help.
When I try to start Windows, it says "A required device is inaccesssible." Is that any help?

It worked!
EDIT: I am unable to boot Windows, it tells me to insert recovery disk. Grub's "Windows Recovery" option does work, however.
I'm afraid to use the recover option, would that mean I...
I tried using gdisk, it worked, but now I'm unable to start my computer in any OS!
When I turn it on, there's just a black screen with the text "GRUB".
I probably should have reinstalled GRUB...
Thanks, I'll try that tomorrow.
Using GPT fdisk seems easiest, I'll wait for the update.
EDIT: this? http://sourceforge.net/projects/gptfdisk/
It took me more than a week to install ubuntu - countless issues with hard drives and the monitor. I really want to avoid going though all that again!
Here's the output:
