    Is it safe to do those commands? Maybe the error message should include a button to do it? So the user can continue and the problem is really solved.

    Thanks. I assume, once the Option is set to 'Daily' or whatever, and then the install error message occurs, switching it to 'Never' will not fix the problem right away? The install is still blocked....

    Yes. But desktop designers have to take into consideration all different types of users. Some are happy with the dash. Some are happy using the command line only. Some prefer using the mouse.
