[ubuntu] Re: 12.04.1 partial upgrade broke X

    Bloody useful, thanks Rich_S.

I should add that although X itself seemed fixed, whenever I was logged in (either though an autologin or when it borked and asked me to enter a password at the X...

[kubuntu] Ctrl+Win key = seeing stars?

I've been trying to work this one out for some time. I don't suppose anyone knows the purpose of the stars that revolve around the mouse when you hold down CTRL+Win in KDE?

    Aside from being...

Re: which font in the ubuntu 6.06 LTS banner?

I have the exact same problem. It's worth noting it worked in Breezy. Now when I set the font and restart X, it puts the default font (I think Bitstream Vera Sans) instead. :(

How to use grub-reboot in KDE

Couldn't find this posted anywhere so I figure I'd better put it up - if only to remind myself next time I rebuild.

The command 'grub-reboot' lets you boot into a specific option listed in the...

Re: You know you're a geek when........

In the latest Harry Potter book, there's a bit where he's practically tearing his hair out trying to find out what a corcrux is. You know you're a geek when you (seriously) think to yourself, "why...

Poll: Re: Command Line and Ubuntu

We hope. It is, however, entirely possible that some git will answer with some equivalent of 'rm -fr /' (almost as bad as 'format c:\') just for fun. Good practice is to read the man page, even...

    Re: Strange Warcraft III problem

Okeydizzle what seems to have worked for me is:

Copy it into the windows/system directory of your Wine install.
    Open a...
