  1. [ubuntu] Re: how to set bluetooth radio default off (afrer booting)?

Sadly that script does not seem to work. Bluetooth is still enabled after waking up from suspended state.
  2. [ubuntu] Re: how to set bluetooth radio default off (afrer booting)?

Thanks! I'll give it a shot.
  3. [ubuntu] Re: how to set bluetooth radio default off (afrer booting)?

Thanks [Knuckles], that worked like a charm.
Funnily enough, bluetooth is reenabled after the computer is back from suspend, so if you or anyone know how to deal with that as well, I'd much...
  4. [ubuntu] Re: how to set bluetooth radio default off (afrer booting)?

This worked for me on Natty, but I have since upgraded to Oneiric. /etc/rc.local still contains the line, but bluetooth is still on by default. Any advice?
  5. [ubuntu] Re: Flickering Brightness on 11.04 with Samsung N140

The Voria repository fixed this for me as well :)
  6. [ubuntu] After upgrade, can't change user, no input for password

My Samsung x125 laptop was upgraded from Natty to Oneiric with not a lot of problems resulting, however one thing really stands out. The computer had 2 user accounts, my wife has one and so do I.
    I...
  7. [ubuntu] Re: Flickering Brightness on 11.04 with Samsung N140

Having the same problem with a Samsung x125 after upgrade to Oneiric. The problem is especially visible when I unplug the power, when brightness should be reduced.
I mever had this behaviour with...
  8. [ubuntu] Re: Broadcom STA driver ubuntu 11.10. How to get it working!

This might be of use to some reading this thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1859749
I had trouble with my BCM4313, but now it works like a charm. Just adding this, because I know how...
  9. [ubuntu] Re: Oneiric client can't copy from SMB share on Natty server. Natty client could.

I'm still able to browse it (and even play music directly from the server), so I would think that this wouldn't matter.
Anyway, I tried deleting any keys on my "key chain" and was asked for it again...
  10. [ubuntu] Oneiric client can't copy from SMB share on Natty server. Natty client could.

I have a server running Natty. I'm sharing the music on that server by right click > "Sharing options" (and that's it, no fiddling with conf-files, etc) and then using Nautilus on the client to...
  11. [SOLVED] Re: No wireless on BCM4313 after upgrade to Oneiric (11.10)

    THANK*you! That's all it took.
I'll update the original post to reflect that.
  12. [SOLVED] Re: No wireless on BCM4313 after upgrade to Oneiric (11.10)

  13. [SOLVED] SOLVED! No wireless on BCM4313 after upgrade to Oneiric (11.10)

    PROBLEM SOLVED.

According to http://www.broadcom.com/docs/linux_sta/bcma.txt I needed to blacklist the bcma driver.
To do this, put in "blacklist bcma" (without the quotes) on a new line in...
  14. [SOLVED] Re: gwibber on lucid beta, am I missing something ?

Same problem here. This *needs* to be fixed, if Gwibber is supposed to be so tightly integrated into Lucid.
No feeds received (ever on Lucid), not able to post to either Twitter or Identi.ca, not...
  15. [SOLVED] Re: Disable password entry on wakeup from suspend?

I also needed Ubuntu Tweak to do this.
So, it is clearly possible, but there should be a way without bringing in that beast of an application, feature wise.
  16. [all variants] Re: Any way to suspend/hibernate/shutdown over LAN?

Thanks, that will get me about 1/3 there, at least :)
How do I suspend and hibernate over ssh?

And is there any way to do this in one easy shell script?
  17. [all variants] Any way to suspend/hibernate/shutdown over LAN?

I managed to set up wakeonlan, but I want to take this a step further by being able to run a simple command to suspend, hibernate or shutdown my file server/ multimedia station over LAN. Is there any...

  23. [all variants] Re: Batch tagging of MP3s based on the name of directory they reside in

    I ended with:

    find . -iname "*.mp3" -path "*/live/*" -exec eyeD3 --v2 --comment=::"Here goes comment" {} \;

Unfortunately, it does not keep my old comment, and just add to it.

    For anyone...
  24. [all variants] Re: Batch tagging of MP3s based on the name of directory they reside in

Thank you so much! I believe that will do the trick!
  25. [all variants] Re: Batch tagging of MP3s based on the name of directory they reside in

Thank you, but this only does part of what I need it to.
The problem is that the files that need tagging reside in directories, that reside in directories called "live". There are other directories...
