    Not sure why this started happening to me, but it did after a recent update in Lucid (to the x.32 kernel or something). Disabling the non-existent floppy in the bios did the trick, thanks!

    Did you delete your first gtalk account? I had to delete my first account and then create a totally new gtalk account with those setting for the network error to go away. I think this is a known bug,...
