I haven't done it but it definitely can. When I upgraded the memory the SD was sitting there completely easy to access, and I saw others online have completed this task.

For the record, I have a X4C with:
Network controller: Intel Corporation Centrino Advanced-N 6235 (rev 24)
and Ubuntu 12.10
No problems whatsoever. No dropping, and great re-connect after...
From what I can tell the Zenbook has a MUCH higher likelihood of painful issues. This is the first laptop I've ever had without wireless issues.. but then it's the first machine I've had that...
I've had no wireless issues like that. I also don't have an issue after suspend, but boot from hibernate is so fast that I do that instead of suspend.

I bet the i7 is the difference. Mines i5. On Power saving next time I boot I'll have a look but I think there is a "Power saving" setting and also a "Take it easy on the battery by only charging it...
I don't know how you are getting that battery life. I wouldn't change a thing. I just checked bios wondering if I had the "Only charge battery to 80% switched on" (which extends battery life) but I...
I'm at a full charge and with those settings I posted the link from my indicator is wavering right now between 6 and 7 hours. It WILL waver as part of the settings are now on-demand / cpu scaling...
Everything I've read has indicated that it the firmware update is an EXE file and atttempts of:
- wine solution failed
- Virtual Environment solution failed
which would mean
- real windows...
12 hours??? Are you kidding me? Wow. Seems like there is no default power management going on (blank /etc/local.rc) so I just used this one:
...
16GIG UPGRADE
Success. Just remove the visible screws on the back. The back clamshells open and there are some clips at the hinge side that you have to persuade to come loose.
Snap in the...
No clue. Sorry.

I stuck with 10.10 for a long time because I hated what they did with Unity, but now that Unity is compiz based ( not sure when that happened) I'm embraced the change and run things pretty much...
The firmware upgrade is a windows .exe file so it has to be run under windows. 12.04 isn't a bad place to stay if you want to. As it's an LTS it has continual ongoing support, although I get the...
Not sure why you wouldn't. Why did you start with 11.10 just out of interest? The windows only firmware update is bad news though. Based on what I read before I did mine, that's the only way to...
As a followup, just got my hands on a micro dvi to HDMI adapter. Using that to connect to an old DVI 1600x1200 monitor instantly finds / adjusts / works.

No, I think I was blessed by not realizing there could be an issue with Wifi at all! I envy so much Apple Fanboys that their choice is simply, "Which of the x Macbook products am I going to bend...
Yup. Looks like price of the C has gone up again. It was $1200 when I bought it, and then $1025 the next day, and Amazon gave me a credit. Now back up to $1200.
Mine has Windows 7. The challenge...
On the B vs C vs D, I saw a youtube video by someone going in to detail about it in relation to the 13" version, but I did a fair amount of sniffing around for the 15. I didn't like that the entry...
Thought I would put this here in case it helps anyone searching for answers who like me has been looking for a great ultrabook for Ubuntu.
I agonized over the choice between:
- Samsung Series 9...
Can you post the end result? I have what is probably the same magnavox screen and it is killing me!
Thanks
Keith
I OWE YOU A BEER TOO!!
Sniffing around the net today many people are having this issue. Seems like a bit of a nightmare impacting Dell / Lenovo / Macbook and all the other Broadcom laptops.

Oh man.. thank you so much!

Great to see this get some use. It's been working hard every day for me since I wrote it, and still going strong. I use it to auto-sort stuff coming in from Usenet.

Rockstar! Thanks
To all the DRM cynics, that's just dumb. There is so much more to this music client than DRM protected music.. even as a playlist manager for multiple devices it rocks.

Note, I was expecting to battle through this issue with a new card, but for first boot I connected (as I had with previous card) using a DVI to HDMI cable.. and sound miraculously works!
After a...
