I had the same problem. Im running Ubuntu 9.04 on a widescreen HP laptop. My ttys didnt appear after Nvidia driver installation. What I did to fix the problem was go into Start-up manager, change...
I have a slightly different problem. I did a fresh install of Jaunty. And now I get a startup error when I try to start frostwire. No idea whats wrong. Here's console output:

Hey I'm extremely curious if you were able to find a solution to your problem. I am currently using lp_solve for ubuntu, however its simplex output is not in the format that I need. Therefore the...
I too have AMD dual core laptop, I run vmware 2.0 in 8.10 and it works fine. But I installed 32 bit package, because my ubuntu install is 32 bit optimized.
I also have the same issue. Searching for solution, if you find it first let me know, and if I find it I'll let you know :)
I guess the secret is to just copy *.kdb file from your ubuntu ~/.passx.kdb to your Program Files folder in windows and vice versa. Works for me.
Maybe we have to get some more experienced users in here to help you out.. However, you said Hardy worked better for you, maybe a fresh install of it would keep your system like you want it.
try these..
xres=800
yres=600
Hope that helps.. I believe these are more standard.. Let us know how it went.
No problem, mark thread as solved then :)
another thing you might want to try is to make your time synchronize with internet servers. Go to 'System > Administration > Time & Date'. From there you can configure your time to sync.
click on your clock, and press 'edit', then click on time settings. And there you will be able to see how fast your seconds go...
OR
right click on your clock, and go to 'Adjust Time & Date'
what about your resolution? can you post whats in your usplash.conf file?

This will open up login screen for vmware in your browser. You will have to login as root I believe. From there you can create a virtual machine,...
It is strange, version of KDE in yakuake is 4.1.4... it must be because im using gnome.. But is there any way to configure it in some .conf file?
PS>> when I go to settings -> configure shortcuts, the list of configurable shortcuts does not include copy and paste. However, if I try to edit current profile, then in input tab I see a possibility...
Thank you for your input. The thing is, I am using yakuake in gnome :,) So extra shift doesnt work for some or another reason. If I could get to where to change those shortcuts, Id also change Ctrl-C...
In my power management options, I have screen brightness on login, what to do when laptop lid is closed, when to shutoff display when idle and so on... Maybe because im running ubuntu on a laptop.
No problem:)
Lets try to work through your problems one by one. What prevents you from using ubuntu first of all?
Maybe because the features that are offered by that tool are more of an individual user preference, such as screen brightness, rather than administrative options.
Its a safe bet he/she got it working :,)
which version of Fire Fox are you using? which linux distribution? can you start it in terminal and post the output (open terminal, type in firefox, press enter)?
