    Same issue with 3.8.0-13 Ubuntu kernel. Must be a power management issue. If you look at the "control" file when AC is plugged, it is set on "on" instead of "auto".

    yep : update/upgrade now ! It works.
    If you can't : sudo apt-get remove gtk2-engines-pixbuf
    and the packages which need this one (audacious, for my case).

    Well, I do not find the bug you quote to be nearly the same as mine ?
    I tried the daily ubuntu kernel but nor progress. Maybe is it an upgrade (from Quantal) issue ? But ethernet used to work fine...
