Just a quick update. I tried my wife's iPad and iPhone this morning and it is the same, the iPad prints fine but the iPhone can't find the printer.
I'm using Ubuntu server 10.04.4 LTS and have set it up to work with AirPrint according to this guide: http://www.finnie.org/2010/11/13/airprint-and-linux/. My iPad is printing fine, but I get "No...
I personally hate Unity. I currently use 11.04 in classic mode but I'm not upgrading because that option went away with 11.10. Right now I'm waiting for the next release of Mint to see if they stick...
I say give Mint a try. I installed it on one of my computers to test it out (since I also hate 11.04), and I think I am going to end up switching all my computers.
I have this problem when I am connected to a network drive, if I umount the drives it works fine. I filed a bug, but honestly I don't have much hope for a fix. I have never filed a bug in launchpad...
I think you are right to a degree. I have been using Ubuntu since 6.06 so I'm not a new user by any means. I gave up on Unity because of all the bugs (I didn't like it anyway, the bugs just pushed me...
I have a smartphone already. I need my laptop for things I can't do on my smartphone. I have gone to the "classic" version of Ubuntu for now and I am planning on what I want to move on to in the...
I tried to use it to see if I could get use to it (even though I didn't like it). There were way to many bugs in Unity, so I gave up and switched back to classic.
I'm in now. I left off this line
and after doing that I was able to boot.
Everything worked fine until installing 11.04 so I don't see how this would be the problem.
I am not able to get to the grub menu. It always loops back to the BIOS splash screen before even trying to load grub.

I tried to re-install using a new CD and got the same problem. I tried the grub commands again and now it is a endless loop of loading the BIOS splash screen then to the black screen with the...
I tried this and now I just get a flashing cursor on the upper left corner with a black screen. It's not even trying to boot and I don't ever get the grub menu.
I just did a clean install of 11.04. Now when I try to boot the machine I get the following error:
Then I am taken to the Grub menu. Selecting anything from the Grub menu brings this error...
I use this for my home server, don't know if it will work for your proposes or not.

I filed a bug about this a long time ago. After answering some initial questions I never heard anything else on the bug. There was never a fix and the bug now seems to be deleted. This is why I gave...
Do you have any sound at all? For example do you hear the systems sounds (like when you log in) or is the sound problem only with music and youtube?
I was having a problem with no sound at all on...
See if installing the restricted extras fixes it.
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras
If you do what Zimmer said and still have buzzing it could be that the action on your guitar or truss rod need adjusting.
Ardour is my favorite. Audacity is another good option.
This package is included with the restricted extras.
Try to install it to see if it makes a difference.
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras
Try
sudo restart smbd
sudo stop smbd
sudo start smbd
I see why Verbeck edited his response, but it is still a good question to ask just to be sure. Did you install the ubuntu-restricted-extras?
