For me - problem solved. There was a macintosh driver loaded. See the below thread:

Having just gone through the whole setup of gigolo, I had a couple comments:
Browsing the network
Gigolo does allow you to browse the network. When I set it up, the network pane wasn't showing...
As far as I can tell, you saved my left mouse button - thank you :).
I just installed Xubuntu 10.04 on a Dell Inspirion 1000 - same problem. Left button doesn't work.
