Despite it freezing on the last command, it worked! Thank you!
Installing the restricted extras, Medibuntu, and libdvdcss2 worked perfectly for me. Thanks!
This worked perfectly. THANK YOU!
Bump. Anything?
I run an HP G60-235DX Notebook PC, and I double monitor with a Sony SDM-S71 17'' monitor (default resolution being 1280x1024). When I first started using it, it was able to go to 1280x1024, but...
Well, there seems to be an update of some kind, as the headset now immediately appears in sound preferences for both input and output. However, this does little good, because even with it selected,...
I have exactly the same problem. Sometimes, I'll be fine for hours. At other times, I'll be dropped every 30 seconds. Anybody know what the cause of this is, or a potential workaround?
Hmm. It seemed to install correctly, and I followed the instructions from the website from there on, but it still doesn't work. :confused:
/etc/mozpluggerrc: ERROR: cannot open `/etc/mozpluggerrc' (No such file or directory)
I just tried that, but I can't find a mozplugger or plugger folder in /etc/.
For some reason, I can't get it to work in Ubuntu. I started in Chrome, where it simply was silent. Then I moved it to Firefox, where it said I needed a plugin to play the media, which I installed....
That is a really good, and concise, guide to doing this. If you don't mind, I'm going to try to edit my first post and put that link there, so that everybody can see it.
I tried that, but I got "E: Couldn't find package 'sun-java6-plugin'." Anything else I could try?
It worked! It worked!
I realized the basic problem: I had not actually saved DVX in the symbols directory. I took the text from DVX and copied it. Then, I opened a terminal and used a sudo...
I posted exactly what frederickjh posted earlier. Reposting, that is:
<layout>
<configItem>
<name>DVX</name>
<shortDescription>DVX</shortDescription>
...
That almost seemed to work. I saved the file sucessfully, but when I tried to select the layout, I got the following error:
Error activating XKB configuration.
It can happen under various...
Ok, I'm good until the part where you edit evdev.xml. For some reason it will not let me edit that file, only read it. Do I need to run a sudo command to edit it?
Ok, and thank you for your efforts here. I'm not likely to see errors, but I will say something if I see something.
Bump.
Anybody?
There have been some posts on this forum about custom keyboard layouts, but the latest one was more than three years ago, and is outdated. I found the following code for a custom dvorak...
Rouge_0111, I know that this is a little off topic, but I am still in 9.04 myself, and have been considering upgrading to 9.10. Would a clean install mean wiping my data?
My guess is that White Fang means secure (password-protected) wireless connections, as opposed to https or a similar internet security feature.
However, unless White Fang replies at some point, we...
Bump.
Anyone?
Hi. I have had Ubuntu for several months now, but recently, ever since I had to remove the battery on my laptop and keep it plugged in at all times, I have been unable to access Ubuntu. When I try...
I am running off of a CD of Ubuntu 9.04 (I think Alpha 6), which I have done before on the same computer without having a problem with it. However, I just tried it, and I found that I was unable to...
