Actually it should indeed log him/her out. That is the whole point of this application. I have used it for years and it is a great application. Please go over the settings again as it may be...
Hmm, I ran into the problem that everyone else has had, when the server is off, no updates. AS a temp fix, since I didn't really understand what everyone else was saying, I moved 02proxy to .02proxy...
Thanks for this simple howto! I followed the instructions and it worked fine for me. Very simple, and saves me a bunch of time since my dsl is not very fast. The import part was key for me since I...
Ok, I discovered that you have to pin or lock that package so it doesn't get upgraded. That is nicely outlined on this page: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/PinningHowto

Ok, got the hardy version, and now running that, seems to work much better. I will test it and if I run into any problems will report back here, otherwise you can assume it is running fine. :) ...
What version of DansGuardian was that? Seems the Jaunty is now gone! No longer supported I think. At any rate the DG package isn't there any longer. :( However I can download older versions of DG...
I have found using google chrome, set the proxy to 8080 that many web pages simply don't load. That is kind of annoying. I refresh, and it still doesn't load? Any ideas? I'm on 10.10.

I will test it out and get back to you. Being someone that runs ssh and scp means I don't mind using a little cli and configuring that so long as I know how and can find it. I will let you know how...
I'm looking at using this, but I wondered if it can be configured to allow ssh inside my network. I have a two computers setup, and I want to be able to ssh into the other computer and update etc,...
Ok, I clean installed Natty on my laptop (kids machine) and it got some testing today, it worked fine. I disabled the Unity desktop that comes default with 11.04, and went with the Ubuntu Classic...
For your information. I installed Natty 64bit desktop on a Virtual machine, and added your repo, installed fine, no problems. I setup a test user, and tested them it kicked them off after 30min...
I was planning on upgrading to the Natty next week and would be testing it regularly, perhaps I will test it out on a virtual install before hand. I'm very glad, that even if improvements are not...
I don't think that Nanny is being actively developed. It hasn't had an update since May of 2010! That is almost a year with nothing. I looked on their web page, but nothing, I can't find any...
I have used timekpr for quite a while, however it is not continuing to be developed, and in light of the Natty release coming soon, I'm looking for alternate solutions. I gave Nanny a try, but it...
This is a bit old, but still a relevant thread. There was a nice package being developed for a while timekpr which worked perfectly and was easy to setup and use. I too am looking for a new...

I'm not sure if this will help you out, but try this:
sudo poweroff and see if that works. I don't remember some of the other stuff I tried, but it was a pain. Hope that will help!

Been there before. There are other factors that play into that ssh stuff, and networking. I don't remember what they all are, but glad it is working for you.

I had this problem before, I think it turned out there was a BIOS update that I had to do. That finally fixed it. I just hit the power button on the laptop when it started to boot back up. It was...
You only have to change the config on your box, not the box you are using to access that box. However I think it would be best if you rebooted. I think* but am not sure that just restarting sshd...
Ok, this is an old thread, I know, but I was wondering if anyone figured out how to use nasty? both nasty and rephrase are in the repos, running rephrase now, but would like to try nasty, but can't...
True but rsync carries lots of permissions with it I believe. So copying that way is ok, but you are going to have to go back and do some clean up to make sure permissions/ownership are correct. If...

She went up to the salesman and said, "I want those pink curtains to fit my computer screen.
The salesman mentioned, "Computers don't need...
