I need a little help and, not finding a suitable forum, I chose the "Absolute Beginner Talk" one. I'm busy trying to promote Ubuntu in my local area. Now for the time be, I'm promoting Ubuntu 10.04...
Did you get the error at start-up?
Tried with slashes and it didn't work.
Tried it with quotes and it worked perfectly. Now it's all working fine.
One thing to note was that after trying all these things, or maybe from the overall...
Sorry for the long response wait. Something came up...
Tried that code and it put me in the folder. Now what?
john@john-desktop:~/Desktop/Wiki Images$
@nothingspecial I tried your code, and it didn't work (see output below)
Also, I can't drag the folder as my Desktop has literally just froze. It's becoming more unstable by the second.
...
I tried all these and none worked. Though I said my photography, I din't mean my "Pictures" folder. I mean a folder called "Wiki Images" on my "Desktop". Probably why I ended up doing one of them...
Tried this. Came up with both:
john@john-desktop:~$ mv vilkija_COA.gif vilkija_COA.svg
mv: cannot stat `vilkija_COA.gif': No such file or directory
and
john@john-desktop:~$ mv vilkija...
Bit of a silly mistake here...
I was on Inkscape, made a *.SVG and went to save it. Now, I went to overwrite a *.GIF file and I saved it as a *.GIF file. So now I have a SVG saved as a GIF in the...
I love it when a plan comes together!

That fixed it! WOOOOOOOOO!!! :guitar:Now all my audio equipment is working. Yeah! Man are you good.
I use and love a Dell Optiplex 745. If the pin is disconnected, I won't be able to anything as I don't have my anti-static wrist band and I know well enough that it's better not to risk it. I...
I'd like to know how to route the sound. But I don't think it's detecting the speaker (along with other things that aren't being detected)
Yes I once had a propitiatory operating system on my computer which used my internal speakers well...I once had that.:p
OMG, I hear sound! As for now, I will go to bed happy that after switching to analog output there is sound from my headphones. Luckily, there is an Asda, UK's Walmart, about a mile from here. Thank...
The output is below:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
john@john-desktop:~$ pasuspender -- speaker-test -D hw:0,1 -c 2 -t pink...
I remember installing pulse earlier this day. The output is below:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
john@john-desktop:~$...
The output was strange. It was as the sound card was busy, "even though" it can't play sound. The output is below:...
There are two speakers in the case. One for the beep, and one Dell gives you the option to put inside the case for a Optiplex 745. One beeps, one plays music.
After removing the dollor sign, the...
The image below shows the only things that were there.
My speakers are inside the case, so I wouldn't call them external.
I am using the digital output. Look at the image below.
Again, they're not...
Unfortunately, I don't have a file called .asoundrc after looking. The closest thing to anything audio-related is Pulse which another post said to download.
No, I still have no sound.
Sorry, I thought I had put the output from aplay -l. Also, I dont have a file
/etc.asound.conf and I don't have a folder with a ~ as it's name....
I unmuted the the input and threw it up to 100% unamplified.
Yes, again I have an image to show.
