I've installed libreoffice 5.2 from the libreoffice ppa after first purging all libreoffice 5.1 from my ubuntu 16.04 install. After the install of 5.2, libreoffice will only open from a sudo terminal...
Any updates anyone? I've put this down a few weeks, but am thinking about trying a new kernel from the repo to see if the sound fixes have made mainstream.
I was able to fix grub with instructions toward the beginning of the thread. Mine boots fine. As for the freezing, do a quick google search for baytrail intel idle cstate kernel param.
Any updates leona? Mine is working pretty well, still haven't played with sound, the multitouch screen seems messed up, and if the display goes to sleep it won't recover.

I don't even have the /sound directory that you referenced above, so no sst_acpi.c file. What am I missing?
So if I make a bootable USB with the 64bit image, and put the bootia32.efi file in the /EFI/Boot folder, my switch drops directly into grub command line. How did you get your USB stick to actually...
My switch will not boot any 64bit kernel. I've tried ubuntu, debian, fedora. Nothing works. I can boot 32 bit versions. bizarre.
Can I ask how you were able to manage completing the install of 16.04? I created a 32bit live usb with the 32bit efi file as before. It will boot the usb stick and start the live install, but part...
I have an interesting issue that doesn't make any sense to me. If I hit the super key (windows key on my keyboard) to enter the dash then start typing to search for an application, the keyboard input...
I think I'm getting a bit closer with sound, but still am missing something.
I blacklisted snd-soc-sst-acpi snd_soc_sst_acpi and now aplay -l will show the baytrail audio on boot. I still however...
Does anyone have any ideas?
I'm having issues with the live installer erroring out of the install when trying to install grub. Is there a way to tell the installer to skip that step?

OK, I'm trying again using 16.04. I've had pretty much the same issues. I blacklisted snd-soc-sst-acpi snd_soc_sst_acpi and now aplay -l will show the baytrail audio on boot. I still however have...
I can't seem to get my live usb to boot on my Acer Switch10. It's a baytrail tablet that needs a 32bit EFI bootloader. I made a usb from the 16.04 64bit iso, and installed the bootia32.efi file in...

looks like most things are working in fedora land. I was pretty happy...
Yes, Both are already on, and turning them off will disable the buttons on tweak-tool's window. no changes to Firefox/pidgin/libre/etc.
I just upgraded from 15.04 to 15.10. Afterward, I noticed that my minimize/maximize buttons were missing from the title bar on most applications. for instance, pidgin, libreoffice and firefox do not...
I've been away for a while. Has anyone gotten the sound working yet?
nothing after boot, but baytrail listed after an alsa force-reload
root@switch:~# aplay -l
aplay: device_list:268: no soundcards found...
root@switch:~#
root@switch:~# sudo alsa...
Bumping this up to see if anyone has further ideas.
Any updates on your progress?
Has anyone had any luck getting sound to work?
still no luck. I was hoping an upgrade to latest 4.1 kernel would help, it didn't.
Could someone please help! the card works in windows, it also works in my other linux laptop when plugged into a...
