I use Avast Free on my Windows 7.

Works very well and have been using it for half a year.

I've never once had an internet connection during installation.

Everything the install needs, is on the LiveCD.

Minimal install requires internet.

I suggest using Fusion icon for most people.

Allows very quick, simple switching of window decorators and managers.

I've used Emesene for a couple years, I find it's the best and works generally well.
