The thing that confuses me the most about this is that it wasn't an issue until the 2.6.27 kernel. Why? If the DSDT is buggy...why did pre-2.6.27 kernels work fine?

Very true. I found the Charlie Miller interview interesting.

Pwn2Own 2009: Safari/MacBook falls in seconds. Sorry but that made me chuckle.

Yes, Windows 3.1 did not have a dock or taskbar but when windows were minimized they went to the bottom of the screen where currently taskbars and docks reside. It had the same 'basic' functionality.
Yeah, they are 'stacked' which gives them a 'glow'. it reminds me of Win 3.1 where they had a rude dock/task bar where running apps sat...

Olle Wiklund, you are welcome!
I like it. Looks like a lot of work to get it that way though. One thing I lack is the ability to get my desktop ever looking that good :|
I just gave a copy of Mandriva 2009 to a co-worker that has never touched Linux. It works really well...right out of the box.
Other than the forums working really slow, I can not use the Search function. After a long period of waiting, I eventually get a blank page. It has not worked since the Intrepid release.
Edit:...
Hmm, I suppose that could be a point of view. I have used every Windows release since 3.1 and TO ME, Vista is better than it's predecessors. That's only my little opinion though. Out of curiosity...
Although I am not sold on 'cloud computing' I don't see that Vista is a failure. If you have spent any time with Vista (work, produced, used) then I can not see how it can be called a failure. I...
Looks to me like you cut off the end of the command. It should be

I wonder where you can buy these returned netbooks. I wouldn't mind buying one at a reduced 'refurbished' price.
The closest one to us is LUCI (Linux Users of Central Illinois) and they meet in Springfield every Tuesday. I have not been but assume it's small. The mailing list is usually only a couple of...
Mazza, what panel are you using?
I like that a lot! Nice work.

Install a couple eyebolts in the wall and buy a hammock. When you aren't resting, hang plants from the eyebolts. ;)
Have a glance at Gnome-Look. You will find everything from Themes, Icons and more.
Are you sure that your DVD Burner supports DVD+R? Some only support DVD-R. Is your DVD Burner mounted? Do other DVD's work properly? Can you provide system specs?
I did a quick Google search and did not find much. Reference to 1.1 everywhere but no downloads. You do realize that 1.1 was release 3/8/1999. I doubt you will find it.
Out of curiosity, why...
