There are several characters which cause some kind of text corruption when shown. One is 覇, which Epiphany seems to be dealing with properly, but there are also many other. One specific trouble maker...

You might want to run pulseaudio in its high priority mode.
You can set pulseaudio up to start without/before X server.

If you run the application via a terminal, perhaps you'll see what's causing the crash by the output.
Oh man, this improved snes9x a lot. ZSNES still is better, but this GUI is great; at least now there's a good alternative on the 64-bit platform! Hopefully this'll make the repositories.
Another thread about this problem was made a couple of days ago, and there I learned that ZSNES now uses libao for audio output.
I started this by pinning the guilt on SDL, but choosing sdl output...
Had to fight myself in order to minimize Chrono Trigger now, because I've been having such a good time gaming after getting rid of the sound problems! It was thanks to this thread that I sorted...
ZSNES makes awful crackling noises. It's not constant at all, but occasionally distorts the whole audio. Attempting to change the audio settings didn't help anything. As the distortion happens at the...
If the installer is such a huge problem, maybe MojoSetup will make it easier for developers to package GNU/Linux versions of their games.
It's not properly used? If you click on Places in GNOME's Menu Bar, there's an option "Connect to Server...", and there you can with no hassle connect to SMB shares (and many other services) with...
No one's mentioned Quod Libet? I'm shocked! QL is the world's best music player!
Thanks for packaging Last-Exit, but I wish you wouldn't apply the song download patch. The Last.fm service shouldn't be abused like that, and there's also a possibility it could make the Last-Exit...
Does HL2 use OpenGL for graphics rendering? I've heard that OpenGL games in some cases actually run better on GNU/Linux, because they don't have to run through DirectX's OpenGL compatibility layer...
My analogue left stick was inverted, and I tried to compile a newer xpad driver, but it didn't do any good. However, I tried calibrating the controller with jscal, and now it works great! Hurray!

It was probably more to get Star Ocean working than Street Fighter, because Star Ocean is claimed to be one of SNES's best RPG's after all.
Oh, I remember running Street Fighter Alpha in SNES9x! Err, it was xSNES9x, to be exact (the Xbox port). You needed to download some special graphic packs and such to make it work. I remember they...
It's been working in both ZSNES and SNES9x for some years now.

It took some time, but I didn't want GNU/Linux on my harddrive before the kernel had better hardware-support. Dual booting was never an option for me, I don't want it. Easy as that. Now I'm all in...
To put it bluntly, I am 15 years myself.
And I am glad no one has ever guessed that before, because it must mean I'm not one of the stupid kids, the average 15 year old.
The guy's attitude and...
It's only a version of KNOPPIX with renamed applications.
I think it would be easier to use a distro intended for slow computers, but Ubuntu should also be possible to run on an older computer.
I don't know how about you, but DSL isn't that hard to use....
