Strange, I went into the WLAN connection and changed nothing.. I saved it and it started seeing the Samba shares.
I went to each tab and opened the routes and confirmed it was empty. Then I closed...
I'm running ubuntu 8.10 on a laptop and I can see my windows shares when I have eth0 (LAN cable) plugged in but when I unplug it and the laptop switches to WIFI I can no longer see the windows...
Found this script in my old home directory:
mkdir smaller
find -maxdepth 1 -type f -name '*.mp3' -exec lame -b80 -q0 '{}' -o 'smaller/{}' \;
I've been searching for hours. I've found several examples of converting FLAC to OGG to MP3, etc., but I just want to make large files smaller by reducing the quality for my daughter's mp3 player. ...
I have soundconverter and am trying to convert mp3's to a lower rate mp3. I select an MP3 file, in the preferences I tell it to convert it to a different directory, constant rate, low quality. I...
If I open IE6 it's fine but then when I close it, and try to reopen it, it won't open it just sits here:
chad@figment:~$ ie6

Thanks leanbeaf.
Is there any way to do this via shell script? I would really prefer to just disable it while playing WoW then enable it when I quit WoW.
Is there no way to do this?
In World of Warcraft, many add-ons use the ALT key as a modifier but in Linux the ALT key does other things... in WoW for example, one add-on wants me to use ALT click to drag the item around but if...

World of warcraft has been working fine but lately it's loading REALLY slow, like 5-8 minutes to load the login screen. Anyone else?
wine .wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/World\ of\ Warcraft/WoW.exe...
Yep. That fixed it for me as well.. Automatix failed to reinstall nvidia so I used the good old Envy script. Love that script.
When I typed glxinfo | grep direct it restarted X.
I came here because I can't run WoW all of the sudden. I think there was just an xorg update? Well whatever it is, I can no longer open wow. ...
Ah.. I don't have "Composite Manager" or anything like it.
I see, it's "Select Window Manager" on my version. Cool, thanks! :)
ok, I give up, how do you turn it off?
I've selected QUIT from the Beryl Manager but that doesn't actually stop any of the animations or anything it just closes the beryl-manager... ?
Didn't know you could ;) Thanks hikaricore!
Yeah I removed Beryl so I could run WoW without crashing either before or after running WoW in it's own X server.
adding my frustration with the ps uax | grep doing nothing and when I try:
nonXgl wine /pathtowow/WoW.exe
Causes xserver to reboot then when I try to log in it just hangs on a blank screen...
And why did you copy your game CD's to your hard drive? You DO OWN the retail version of World of Warcraft on it's original cd media right?
It doesn't sound like you have wine installed correctly.
Have you run winecfg since you installed wine?
you might also try running:
sudo winecreateprefix
Well kudos on the positive response to my rather mean reply! I guess that's a plus for you. Still think you need to polish the site up a bit and add a LOT more content before it'll be one of my...
alt-click is default for moving windows in gnome or something I think because mine does it as well. Even if I put wow on it's own x session using the instructions on the isntall how-to. It's...
Why didn't you put this post here:

I don't think resolution is your problem. What version of Wine and what video card are you using?
