Having the same issue. Usually end up crashing the whole computer and losing work.

It so happens that pressing F11 will make geany go full screen and this setting will persist for ever. This means that the problem is solved by merely pressing the F11 key once again. I am very happy...

For some reason Geany stopped having window borders and title. All other apps have them. The only black sheep being Geany.
