I found that fogger from it-samurai's paa seems to work fine with gmail, but very few other web servers.
Solved by updating office 2007 to SP3 using the 2007 SP3 crossover tie. Now the performance is as expected.
After updating from Xubuntu 12.10 to 13.04 I noticed that PowerPoint 2007 via Crossover (wine) became very slow and takes many seconds to refresh slides. Doesn't seem to be a graphics driver issue,...
I'm running xubuntu 12.04 with xfce 4.10 and love it.
One annoyance I have is in the way Thunar behaves when deleting several files.
With other file manager the follow behavior is usual

I don't understand your question "what is the fullform of KVM", could you restated it
When your keyboard & mouse are captured by Virtualbox or RDP etc. a Ctrl+Alt+L will not lock your X screen as the Ctrl+Alt+L was sent to your VM (or RDP session) not your desktop. You need to click...
I've seen the same issue with other hypervisors and also with rdp sessions. To be secure, click back into your linux desktop and make sure your screen is locked.

Check out Proxmox

Debian based, kvm and openvz. Supports clusters, great GUI and nearly everything you get with vSphere.
Updating an old thread.
The issue here was that our cat had bitten through the cable, so the microphone sometimes worked, sometimes didn't.
Thanks Elfy
I had just tried this exact step and was about to mark this as solved. Thunderbird wasn't listed in the session, but clearing saved sessions did the trick.
Thanks for replies
Save sessions is not enabled. I can also close TB before shutdown, but it always starts on 1st login.
Running xubuntu 12.04 and in the last few weeks thunderbird starts up when I login and I do not want this to happen.
When I look at Setting> Session and Startup Thunderbird is not set to start. I...
I successfully locked tb via the command line
# echo "thunderbird hold" |dpkg --set-selections
This should be the same as Synaptic's Package->Lock Version, looks like a bug in Synaptic
As thunderbird 15 breaks several plugins I locked it at v14 in synaptic. However this was ignored and thunderbird was updated to 15 and the plugins broke :-(
I thought I must have forgotten to...
No answer, but I see the same problem on xubuntu 12.04.
Every new network connection seems to pause for 5+ seconds and then data flows at good speed.
Thanks, you're right I shouldn't have the spaces, but sh now using dash rather than bash was my issue.
It did indeed, many thanks.
Thanks for the replies.
This was triggering a virus alert in our work proxy server.
However I tried to install at home and although the files downloaded the install failed with "broken...
I have a bash script that started to fail with "let: not found" and I'm stumped as to why.
To troubleshoot I created a very simple script (test.sh) which also fails.
#!/bin/bash

The update manager found a few updates as usual recently and failed to update chromium. When I looked into why I see the following output.
The 403 VirusFound [IP: 91.189.92.167 80] is a little...
Still a problem with nvidia's 275.19 driver
Trying 173
I can confirm I have the same issue after upgrading to 11.04
