the problem is gone...
If a new file is created in a folder it is not shown until I directly reload the folder in nautilus.
My nautilus (3.4.2) does not autorefresh as it used to. I would appreciate any advice on how to fix this.
It seems like gtkmozembed is no longer supported or available on Ubuntu 12.04 (still in 10.04 repositories). But I found a nice alternative: python-webkit, which acts very similar to gtkmozembed.
