Yes, same here in Saucy. Hadn't seen that in Raring. Did you create a bug report?
I'm not using wine so I can't reproduce your problem. Just one suggestion: You might try to install wine with aptitude instead of apt-get as aptitude is often more intelligent in resolving dependency...
That sounds a bit apodictic ;) I mean: There is no 100% security. Nowhere! Nobody can guarantee that a meteorite won't beat you to death some day.
But you can say that Ubuntu is reasonably secure...
Yes, it's true that there is no 100% guarantee. However, new/modified packages not only go to Ubuntu - they also go to the other distros. Thus, a lot of people will check new code, and I assume that...
BTW: I had noticed that the addons had vanished in the extensions.ini file. I replaced that with the file from my backup. After that they reappeared in the add-ons manager but it was not possible to...
After reinstalling it? No, now it works and appears as it should.
They did in my case.:( I had to install them anew. The preferences in prefs.js were still there, though.
@fatbrother:
Please try
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
It might be necessary to manually delete broken packages in /var/cache/apt/archives/
The Thunderbird profile is in .thunderbird and not in .mozilla. It will not be affected if you delete .mozilla.
I translated the Chromium AppArmor profile to the following one which doesn't cause problems so far but might still need some improvements.
# Author: Jamie Strandboge <jamie@canonical.com>...
And that was a clean new profile without any add-ons? Have you also tried starting FF with firefox -safe-mode ?
I suggest that you start FF on the console with firefox -p , create a new profile and see if that helps. Your profile might be corrupt.
https://launchpad.net/~mozillateam/+archive/firefox-next says:
I have no idea why. Might be a temporary problem.
I have no idea why FF isn't updated to version 10 in Lucid. Only Chris Coulson could answer that. Anyway, you can add the Ubuntu Mozilla Security Team ppa in order to get it.
You might have some settings in .kde that cause problems. Thus, if the suggestion by drmrgd doesn't help you can try the following:
1. Logoff.
2. Press Ctrl+Alt+F1 and logon.
3. Execute:
mv...
Not on my system. It might depend on your hardware (e.g., how much RAM, what graphics card including related driver - open or closed source ... etc.) and on your specific Firefox configuration (like...
... or, alternatively (if you don't want to use proposed as it might contain unstable packages), the ubuntu-mozilla-security ppa.
2 suggestions:
Replace NotScripts with ScriptNo which is much better.
Enable Click-to-play in order to control flash and other plugins.
Yes, but it seems that these problems apply to FF Trunk.
I hope you're right :)

Hm, not really reassuring if you ask me. Does that mean that the security team is understaffed? 5 days should be long enough considering that the beta was tested for several weeks. As...
No, no, you completely misunderstood! I was referring to the relatively new Rapid Release Process detailed here which is not at all Ubuntu specific. The Nightlies, Aurora and Beta channels are...
Right, and I would be glad if Chris gave that answer. Considering what he wrote in his blog, and considering that FF 9 beta was in the firefox-next ppa for 6 weeks I wonder why they need so long to...
You might have problematic extensions. Open a console, execute
firefox --safe-mode
and disable all addons.
If that doesn't help, there might be another problem with your profile. Open a...
