  4. Re: Howto: Install and use projectM music visualizer with pulseaudio support on Hard

    Hey guys,

I still can't replicate the mouse disappearing issue. Anyone speculating as to why it only happens to some users?

  5. Re: Howto: Install and use projectM music visualizer with pulseaudio support on Hard

A preset is failing to load on your system. My code throws an unhandled exception in that case. I will improve the error handling. Do you know what preset it is trying to load up? Is the path valid?
  6. Re: Howto: Install and use projectM music visualizer with pulseaudio support on Hard

Well the projectM developers (Pete and I) don't actually use ubuntu- so rather than wasting time not developing, we prefer that an ubuntu guru who likes projectM puts in the effort to do it (with our...
  7. Re: Howto: Install and use projectM music visualizer with pulseaudio support on Hard

In regards to "alsa input" support,

there is alsa-based line in and mic support available via the project-libvisual-alsa subdirectory (turn on INCLUDE-PROJECTM-LIBVISUAL-ALSA and rebuild to test...
  8. Re: Howto: Install and use projectM music visualizer with pulseaudio support on Hard

    Sorry guys,

Since I moved and I can't get my stupid verizon wireless broadband device working in linux, I've only had internet access in windows lately.

As for the mouse bug, I'll look into-...
  9. Re: Howto: Install and use projectM music visualizer with pulseaudio support on Hard

That's a cool little tool you got there...I wonder if it should be in our repository or not, and how I could properly add it. Perhaps "make deb" or something along those lines?

[all variants] Re: How-To Install Xmms & ProjectM...

    It's for purely technical reasons.

    (1) xmms development has ceased.

    (2) it may be easier to get projectM working without xmms.

    (3) the projectM developers do not want to encourage the use...

If you want help getting projectM 1.x, why not post your problems here and I can assist you? You shouldn't be using xmms by the way. It is unmaintained and deprecated. Try audacious or amarok for...

[ubuntu] Re: Looking for an amarok command

There is no "command". projectM should show up in the list of libvisual plugins when amarok is running. If it doesn't, then you have an installation problem or there is a bug with projectM.

    The...
  13. Re: Howto: Install and use projectM music visualizer with pulseaudio support on Hard

Can't do it easily unfortunately (cmake doesn't support make uninstall out of the box). The only way if its installed by source is to manually delete everything.
  14. Re: Howto: Install and use projectM music visualizer with pulseaudio support on Hard

Do same steps as shown in tutorial, but change CMAKE_BUILD_TYPE to Debug rather than Release. Then type "gdb /usr/bin/projectM-pulseaudio" . Then type the command "r" inside of gdb to run it. If it...
  15. Re: Howto: Install and use projectM music visualizer with pulseaudio support on Hard

El-Lance-O - not easy to trace that. Try giving me a stack trace of it, maybe that will reveal something? That is, build in debug mode, then run it in gdb.
  16. Re: Howto: Install and use projectM music visualizer with pulseaudio support on Hard

mouse hiding is implemented on trunk r1016. Let me know if its the desired behavior.
  17. Re: Howto: Install and use projectM music visualizer with pulseaudio support on Hard

Both very doable in the Qt4 framework (or any gui of course). I will consider these simple mods and possibly implement them when my work dies down.

Please post your feature requests on our...
  18. Re: Howto: Install and use projectM music visualizer with pulseaudio support on Hard

First of all, make sure "INCLUDE-PROJECTM-LIBVISUAL" is turned on. Change your CMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX (I believe) to = "/usr" as the tutorial suggests. Then press 'g' and do a make install. If it...
  19. Re: Howto: Install and use projectM music visualizer with pulseaudio support on Hard

    TehDoomCat,

    Run "ccmake ." in projectM-Trunk/src

After pressing 'c' and maybe 'g' you should see options like INCLUDE-PROJECTM-PULSEAUDIO. Turn that one off. Turn on/off anything else you care...
  20. Re: Howto: Install and use projectM music visualizer with pulseaudio support on Hard

    castles,

The "Connection failure: connection refused" line probably implies that your pulse audio setup is not working correctly. When projectM-pulseaudio can't open a legitimate pulse audio...
  21. Re: Howto: Install and use projectM music visualizer with pulseaudio support on Hard

I can't really trace your problem without seeing it in gdb. Please change the CMAKE_BUILD_TYPE to "Debug", rebuild / install the project again, and run projectM-test via "gdb projectM-test". Then...
  22. Re: Howto: Install and use projectM music visualizer with pulseaudio support on Hard

Well I have been slowly getting the ambition to install hardy on something for a variety of reasons, but before then it's not that easy to verify the FTGL problem until I get more feedback from users...
  23. Re: Howto: Install and use projectM music visualizer with pulseaudio support on Hard

Fixed. Thanks for making me aware of this. Been coding projectM on the mac more than anywhere else lately and apple apparently has looser sensitivities to C++ syntax than linux.
  24. Re: Howto: Install and use projectM music visualizer with pulseaudio support on Hard

This is a tough one. Please post the contents of "/usr/lib/pkgconfig/*ftgl*.pc" on your system. For instance, mine (Gentoo) is "/usr/lib/pkgconfig/ftgl.pc" and contains:
