Hmm...Has anyone tried it?
Anyone still working on the Mini 12?

deb-src http://dell-mini.archive.canonical.com/ubuntu/ intrepid main universe multiverse restricted
...
Anyone?
Any one else getting an upgrade to Intrepid? I got the Dell Mini 12 drivers, plus UNR, plus mobile.
Is any one else having problems with their CPU acting up after closing Open Office?
Thank you :). I guess thats not it. I noticed some weird cpu usages in my belmont image that I downloaded, but that wasn't it I guess.
Anyway does this mean we can install a vanilla 8.04?
Can someone run this command to see what power save mode Dell is using vs the UNR remix on default:
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor
I can confirm they work on the UNR image.
I'll try it when I get mine back. I got it sent back because the "?/" was sticky to the point that it made twenty characters per press. In Linux, it was almost impossible to change directories.
Do you find it more stable than simply using the UNR?
Damn, I did it the other way and broke my system. After I install Belmont, should I remove all the Dell sources? What should the sources.list look like in the end?
What exactly does Direct Rendering provide?
I'v actually found the latest drivers to be extremely fast and stable for 2d and every day work. I can stream videos from my server and everything. Have you tried them without the 3d acceleration?
For anyone that cares, I found a good repository for lpia based vlc.
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/c-korn/ubuntu hardy main
It might help in getting the latest vlc player to play videos a tad...
So found I have found that installing the UNR 1.01 image with the pbs drivers from the repository has worked the most stable, provided the most battery life, and been the fastest. Yet, this will not...
I installed the 3d drivers and they work now that I am using Marduks improved image. Anyone noticing a large increase in CPU usage from this?
Ok I will try it later on tonight when I get home. Unfortunately, my Dell has had a problem and must be returned. The "/?" key is messed up :(. It might be a motherboard problem. Hopefully, it...
Well I reinstalled the UNR version without the 3d accelaration and video acceleration. It works pretty well now. I got youtube going at full speed and firefox, openoffice, etc. open up extremely...
I installed the UNR version and got 3d working, etc. It was fast at first, but now X just closes on its own. Firefox closes after around 3 minutes of use. I have reverted back to the original Dell...
Has anyone tried flash on other netbooks?
Do you get stutter with youtube? I keep getting a great deal of stutter. Should I change my flash player to something other than adobe flash?
K I just finished removing Dells image and replacing it with UNR according to post 94. There is a considerable question; however, I still have some questions.
1. I have followed brteag00's post...
What is post 94 referring to then?
I'm a little confused on the UNR. Is it based on 8.04 or 8.10?
Also is the UNR beneficial? The original Dell image is really slow. Is battery the same?
