Tor is failing for some reason, you can restart it and watch the logfile - there
might be a clue as to why.
Did you edit /etc/tor/torrc ?
Are you behind a restrictive firewall?

I recommend you take a look in the logfiles for both Tor and Polipo;
/var/log/tor/log
and
/var/log/polipo/polipo.log
Make sure they don't report any errors.
Hi, I used to have a similar script that connected a ralink card to a
WPA-encrypted network, the method I used can be found here:

This reply is probably too late for the original poster, but hopefully
this will be useful to someone..
The solution seems to be to lower the MTU of your connecting. In my case,

Hi guys!
I'm running Kubuntu 8.04 and KDE 4.1 on a Compaq 8510w, often used in a
HP Docking-station with a HP w2408 24" monitor that supports 1920x1200,

Everything is explained here: ...
Actually no, after finding a repository for libtiff3g it finally works under Dapper!
I documented the process in my wiki-page, based mainly on this HOWTO and tips

Although it could be a typo I have to ask: Did you try lidbus-1-dev or libdbu-1-dev?
In the log you pasted you are trying to install the wrong/misspelled package.
Months ago I used this HOWTO to get my i850 working under Breezy, currently
under Dapper this is a no-go - Like others I am forced to use the BJC-7000 drivers.
I really appreciate the fix, but why is no updated package available seeing as the
problem is known and a fix is found?
