    [ubuntu_studio] Dash thingy

    Howdie,

I have recently installed Ubuntu Studio and am very pleased with it. Performance is as expected, XFCE is a no-nonsense, clean desktop....

What I just found the other day, is some kind...
  3. Re: Howto: WOW with Wine (help.ubuntu.com/community/WorldofWarcraft)

I have actually run into the "wow is unable to start up 3d acceleration" wall myself, on a PC that ran WoW just fine no two weeks ago and sports a Nvidia 8500GT, no onboard Intel-Stuff ;)

    Some...

[ubuntu] Re: Slow boot after upgrading to 11.04

I was struck by the same problem AFTER I had my broken mainboard switched to another model. This solution here fixed it for me too, but I am left a bit curious as to what I just commented out. Would...

Re: Lord Of The Rings Online (LOTRO) Part 2

No problem. Though you should not have to maximize, just move the mouse to the top edge of your screen, is all. In any case, glad I could help :)

Re: Lord Of The Rings Online (LOTRO) Part 2

I assume you use Unity as a "windowmanager" as it is standard in Ubuntu these days... Just go ahead and start pylotro, then move your mouse ALL the way up to the end of your screen - voila :)

Re: Lord Of The Rings Online (LOTRO) Part 2

Nvidia 8400GS. Nothing fancy, I know, but I still feel like it should perform better, especially considering how near perfect WoW seems to run on wine with it.

Re: Lord Of The Rings Online (LOTRO) Part 2

I am by far not an expert in these matters (as seen in my own cry for help, as yet unanswered...) but: Isn't that a package that is used by nouveau as a driver, not the nvidia one? It sounds familiar...

Re: Lord Of The Rings Online (LOTRO) Part 2

As for driconf: I can install it from the normal repos just fine. But running it results in a little pop-up that tells me:
XDriInfo returned with non-zero exit code. and
libGL is too old in the...
